In 2006 the Arizona Corporation Commission, the state’s utility regulatory agency, is expected to boost the amount of clean energy, such as solar and wind power, in Arizona by increasing the state’s clean energy standard.
As part of the process, the commission is likely to hold public hearings in Phoenix and Tucson to gain input from concerned citizens. Arizona PIRG, in conjunction with clean energy allies, will continue to point to the economic and public health benefits of increasing clean energy in Arizona to at least 15 percent by 2025.
In addition, Arizona PIRG will advocate annual plans and compliance reports to ensure implementation. |
